Cadet Commander

Must be at least a senior grade NCO. CC will be held by the cadet with the most leadership experience and models the cadet oath to the best of their ability. CC is the only cadet position directly chosen by the senior staff and all cadets wishing to become cadet commander will submit a letter of intent to the senior staff upon their request for them.

CC must:

-form a functioning and capable staff using good judgment
-have a plan of action for their time in command (i.e., set goals for the squadron as well as yourself)

Weekly duties include:

-oversee meeting and staff
-carry out senior member's orders on training

Other duties include:
-make adjustments necessary to the Sqdn SOPs
-make sure continuity files are kept

-train, mentor, and evaluate staff members

Line Staff

Flight Commander

NCO grade cadet appointed by CC and approved by Senior Staff. The Flt CC carries out leadership of the corps of cadets on the flight level.

Weekly duties include:

-leading the flight and its staff

-assigning cadets to elements

-distributing paperwork to flight

-maintain a cadet roster with certifications and contact info

Other duties include:

-assigning special projects to elements

-evalutating elements and their staff

-producing a full testing list to SM staff

Flight Sergeant

NCO grade cadet, assistant to Flt CC. Manage flight when Flt CC is occupied; acts as a back-up Flt CC.

In-Flight Line Staff

Element Leader

High grade Amn and low grade Sgts, but maturity and following the Cadet Oath are other factors in assigning this position. The EL position allows for several cadets to experience a leadership role.

Weekly duties include:
-maintaining discipline and military bearing of cadets
-moving the element from location to location

-handling problems with cadets and administrative matters (questions on paperwork, maintaining phone chain)

-performing informal inspections

-upholding the phone chain

-overseeing and policing of the meeting area
-obtaining testing information from cadets

Assistant Element Leader

Amn grade cadet, assitant to the EL. Manage element when EL is occupied; acts as a back-up EL.

Executive Staff

Operations

NCO grade cadet appointed by CC and approved by Senior Staff. Responsible for overseeing squadron operations, both weekly meetings and outside activites.

Weekly duties include:

-developing and posting OPORDs for meetings and activities

-overseeing the execution of the OPORD

Other duties include:
-maintaining and adjusting the Sqdn OPLAN

-coordinating materials needed for activities

-manage Ops staff

Logistics

NCO grade cadet appointed by CC and approved by Senior Staff. Responsible for overseeing squadron equipment, funds, and personnel on the cadet staff.

Weekly duties include:

-collecting attendance

-dispensing equipment

Other duties include:

-maintaining check list of Sqdn property

-managing LOG staff
