Squadron Meeting Continuity -- Important lessons for new staff

-An OPORD will be posted weekly by the Operations Officer on the Sqdn message board NLT the Saturday before the meeting.

-When performing formal activities such as Formations, Group PT, and Inspections, the guidelines taught at the NY Wing Encampment should be used.  They will be practiced and taught to new members, using encampment attendees to fine-tune them annually.

-The information taught in classes is saved, but the actual class should be an original class designed by the new instructor.  The more effort and creativity, the better the class will be.

-Keep in mind that a group of cadets will always be more advanced and require some more specialized training than basic cadets.

-An AAR should be conducted every week or after any activity to review and reinforce what the cadets were taught and any changes that can be made in the future.

-To build teamwork and espirit de corps, activities outside of squadron meetings should be organized.

-Assignment to Flights, Elements, mentors, or battle buddies should be made ASAP for all new recruits to encourage use of the chain of command and to help cadets learn quickly.
