Know and Demonstrate the Cadet Oath

I Pledge to serve faithfully in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program,

-You are a member of the United States Air Force Auxiliary, the largest Search and Rescue wing of the Air Force

-You volunteer your time to serve the community and in turn learn valuable leadership skills and participate in several activities you otherwise would be unable to experience

-Your unit is the Orange County Squadron; charter number NY-030, Catskill Mountain Group, New York Wing, North East Region, Civil Air Patrol

Attend Meetings Regularly,

-Operations Orders are posted weekly on the unit message board online with location, time, uniform, and activities

-Inform the chain of command when you will not be in attendance using the message board

Participate Actively in Unit Activities,

-All squadron members are expected at squadron activities unless there is a limited amount of space. Activities are held to give the cadets hands on training.

Obey My Officers,

-Maintain military discipline and professionalism when at CAP events or when in CAP uniform as you reflect the organization

-Use the chain of command for communication

Wear My Uniform Properly,

-Wear the correct uniform of the day (Class A, B, C dress blues, BDUs, or PT)

-Have all of your CAP Identification with you at all times

-Do not wear an incomplete uniform

-It is a privilege to wear a USAF style uniform

And Advance My Education and Training Rapidly to be of Service to My Community, State, and Nation.

-Take responsibility for yourself - ask questions, fill out your forms, check the message board online, know what is going on, take notes
-Study your leadership and aerospace texts on your own to advance in grade
